County Hurling Junior & U21 Champions 2009

Aherlow GAA was founded in 1885, and since that time has gone on from strength to strength. A small village at the foot of the Galtee Mountains about 8 miles outside of Tipperary town. The club is mainly recognised as a football club, due to its cosistency in being involved in senior, under 21, junior, minor and underage football finals for the last decade. But the club has evened itself out now, with hurling being given its fair share of attention and the club is now very competitive at all age groups and growing stronger at intermediate hurling level.

Best of luck to Cathal Dillon and the TIPPERARY hurlers.
Best wishes to the Tipperary senior & intermediate hurlers in their first round clash of the Munster championships versus old rivals Cork. We especially wish the best of luck to our our sharpshooter Cathal Dillon. No doubt a big crowd from Aherlow will go along to shout him and all the team on.
Club Result West SFC Round 2. Aherlow 1-10 Arravale Rovers 0-08. A relatively comfortable win in the end, despite missing numerous scoring chances throughout the game. The crucial score, a brilliantly taken goal by Conor O'Shea from an incisive Peter Leonard pass, came mid-way in the second half. Attention now turns to the 2nd round of the County Championship against the winners of Clonmel Commercials v Loughmore Castleiney.
Club Result West JFC Round 2. Aherlow 1-06 Solohead 2-11. The team struggled to get into this game and were defeated at the end by 9 points. After a poor start the lads recovered to be 4 points in arrears at half-time but were unable to make any headway in the second half. Still a lot to be played for with 4 games remaining in the league section to determine the semi-finals.
Club Result County SFC Round 1. Aherlow 2-14 Killenaule 0-04. An emphatic victory for our lads againt a poor Killenaule side who at times seemed only intent on not playing football. Ciaran Mcdonald scored what must be his first goal in an Aherlow jersey. Conor O Shea got the second goal that sealed the win for us. Mullins dererves credit for some super stuff.
