Woodrose Publications, Singapore 1977, for the Society of Singapore Writers

Edited by Chandran Nair

About the Anthology

Singapore Writing collects the works of some 40 Singapore writers.  It includes for the first time in one volume, works by writers using the English language and translations from Malay and Chinese writers. Singapore Writing shows  that while the major achievement of writers in Singapore has been in poetry, prose and especially the short story is beginning to assert itself.

Footnote: Chandran Nair's poems, The Sphinx, Bonds, Photographs and The Interior Landscape of the Heart and his short stories, Daydream Sequence and Kamala's Day are included in this anthology.
