The 1901 Census Returns
Now the 1901 Census is finally online (click here), I have got round to digging out some pages relevant to my family history.  Unfortunately, I haven't found out anything very exciting but have filled in a few blanks.  One useful piece of information gathered from all these pages is who WASN'T living with their parents in 1901.

Annie Laura Fisher born in Farnsfield in 1884.  In 1901 she was working at 7 Alma Terrace, Nottingham as a Domestic Servant.  As far as I can tell, Alma Terrace no longer exists.

Charles Fisher and his wife Kate living in Mansfield.  I don't think Belmont Terrace exist anymore either

Henry Fisher and Family living in Farnsfield.  I still need to get the subsequent page of this as there may be more family members in that

John George Fisher and family living in Back Lane, Farnsfield.  I don't think Back lane exists anymore but there is a 'Far Back Lane' in Farnsfield.  Discovered from this that Gladys' middle name was Mary.

John Wiseman and family living in Foston.  In 1901 two of John's granddaughters (Sarah and Mary) were living with the family but I don't know who the parents were. (MAP)

Alexander McIntosh and family in Sheffield.  This is probably the most valuable to me personally.  Until now we didn't know where or when Alexander was born and we didn't know the birthplace for Alexander's daughter ,Agnes, (my Great Grandmother).  Although we did know there was a Scottish origin somewhere.  It looks like 23 Neill Road still exists in Sheffield MAP & PHOTO
Now that I know Alexander's birth place I was able to check the the 1881 Census record.  They are listed and but nothing very significant comes to light.  It does state, however, that Alex' was born in Glasgow and not Greenock !  It also mentions that an Aunt Ether[sic] Gill was living with them and they lived at 82 Rockingham lane, Sheffield (MAP).

We were also aware that there was some connection with Sheffield but thought that was probably on the Clayton side.  Agnes married John Clayton (see below)

William Clayton and family in Burton Joyce.  I believe Main Street still exists MAP
