ACTIVITES
The activities mentioned below are listed to help you have fun and improve your mental and body health while
spending your holiday. To participate in these activities depends on your free will and effort.
As Nil Apart, we are only recommending you these activities and if you wish we can
help you to participate in these activities.
Activities in the Nearby Area
These activities, does not require a transportation vehicle, since they are short-distance activities like swimming and
trekking.
- Swimming + Walking : Çıralı has a beach of 3.5 kilometers. This beach is the reproduction area of the world
famous sea turtle: Caretta Caretta. The area is
protected by World Wide Fund of Nature (WWF) and its Turkey representative
The Society for the Protection of Nature (DHKD)
(Doğal Hayatı Koruma Derneği). The sea is very clean. The beach is scarcely populated. The beach by the Nil Apart is good for health cure since it is mixed with volcanic minerals. We recommend you to walk between Nil Apart and the sea as a compulsory sport. Walking takes 12 minutes to the beach through pine trees.
- Chimeira (Yanartaş) trekking: The Chimera takes its name from the myth of Bellerophon. The Lycian King,
Lobates, sent Bellorophon to kill the fire-breathing monster, part lion, goat and serpent. With the aid of
the winged horse Pegasus, young Bellerophon slew the fire-breathing monster, Chimera, and where the monster's
fiery pieces remain to light up Mount Olympos Yanartaş (Burning Rock), attracts many tourists every year. Both at
the top and middle of that little mountain, little flames still burn actively, if you dig the earth there a little
and light a match, it will be ignited. That eternal fire, is 2 kilometers away from Nil Apart. 1 kilometer of that
is a straight road, and the rest of the road requires a little climbing up the road between pine trees following a
footpath. At night you can bring your food (sausages, potatoes) there and cook by using that fire.
- Çıralı- Chimeira - Ulupınar trekking: If you walk for 6 kilometers you can reach to Ulupınar village.
That village has natural water springs. You can have your lunch here in one of the many nice restaurants
by the spring, you can have delicious fish on ceramic plates. If you prefer to return via a different road,
you can walk by the highway or get on a minibus (10 km).
- Çıralı-Olympos antique city walk: Olympos antique city is 3.5 kilometers away to Nil Apart.
You can either walk or ride bicycle. You can walk by the beach or you can swim, too. You can find food on the way.
- Çıralı-Maden Bay walk: Maden Bay is the bay next to Çıralı. It is on the historical Lycian
Way from Fethiye to Antalya. The way (footpath) goes through the forest by the coast and reaches to a wide and nice beach and it takes one or 1.5 hours. You must take your drinks and food with you.
- Çıralı-Harapkale walk: Harapkale is on the left, to the side of a hill at
the third kilometer of the road connecting Çıralı to the main road. You have to climb
on the side of a the hill for about one kilometer. Harapkale is 7 km from Nil Apart,
you can ride about 6 km of it by bicycle.
- Çıralı village tour: You can walk around the Çıralı village. This walk is an easy one without any climbs.
A complete tour is 6 km. You can ride bicycle, too.
Activities in the far regions
These activities take a day, either by a car or by a boat.
- Boat tours: These tours start from Çıralı beach. One of the tours take you to south: Ceneviz, Sazak and Adrasan bay; the other tour takes you to north: Maden bay, Tekirova and Phaselis. Both tours include lunch and you can swim at different stops on the way.
- Kemer or Kumluca market trip: On certain days of the week, in Kemer and Kumluca you can visit an open market and enjoy shopping. Market is on Mondays in Kemer, and in Kumluca it is on Fridays. They are both 40 km to Nil Apart. You can find local vegetable and fruits, natural healing plants, handcrafts and clothing.
- Phaselis trip: Phaselis, is a historical place on the way from Çıralı to Kemer. It is by the sea. You can swim after you visited historical ruins. It is 30 km to Çıralı. You can find food and drink there.
- Antalya city and museum trip: You can visit Antalya city and see historical and touristic sites. It is 80 km to Çıralı.
- Aspendos and Perge trip: One of the world's most famous antique theaters is in Aspendos. It is interesting for its acoustic and architectural features. Perge is an antique place close to that theatre, and its city architecture can compete with today's. To go and come back takes 250 km.
- Köprülü Kanyon trip and rafting: Köprülü Canyon is on the Toros mountains which is on northeast of Antalya. The canyon is a very interesting place with lots of trees and you can go rafting there. To go and come back takes 325 kilometers.
- Finike and Arycanda trip: You can visit historical Finike village which is 50 kilometers away from Çıralı or Arycanda antique city.
- Kale-St. Nicholas Church and Myra trip: The present-day town of Demre - Myra in antiquity - boasts a very touching historic and architectural feature: St. Nicholas Church is in Kale town which is 80 kilometers to Çıralı.
- Üçağız-Kaleköy-sunken city trip: Close to the Kale town, there is a boat/yacht that leaves on west coast in the morning. There you can enjoy the beauties that we can call Mediterranean aquarium, especially sunken city (sunk by the earthquake) debris, and swim in bays that look like a fjort and live in the beautiful nature, eat lunch at Kaleköy and take a rest.
These are some of the activities that you can accomplish in a day.
